Some Double-page scanned notebooks painted by me, gouache and collage created between 2024 and 2025
The writer Orhan Pamuk kept notebooks for a very long time, in which he drew, took notes on the characters in his novels, and wrote about current events. He tells that several months later, he came back to the blank pages to fill them in with drawings or poems.
The double pages of his notebooks then contained different moments of his life intertwined within the same space.
Time, the latency between things and moments in life, was for him a way of circulating his thoughts.

I then think of the concept of Ma, a Japanese concept
which tends to consider emptiness as a potential space
for the circulation of meaning, as an essential breath
for harmony like a space in which thought
can flourish and mature.
